Sugar Free Thumbprints
These allergy-friendly thumbprint cookies are fun to make, whether it’s the holidays or not! Filled with my homemade sugar free chia seed jam, these are going to become a staple sugar free Christmas cookie for me. These were extremely popular among my taste testers this year, and voted the most popular cookie!
Thumbprints are a tradition in my family around the holidays. My mom would always bake the version in the traditional Betty Crocker cookbook, which rolls the dough in egg and then chopped walnuts. Thumbprints weren’t my favorite cookie as a kid, but I grew to appreciate the tradition. When I went dairy free, gluten free, and sugar free for health reasons, I knew I had to find a way to still participate in Christmas baking. That’s when these sugar free thumbprint cookies were born.
How to make sugar free thumbprint cookies
These thumbprint cookies use arrowroot flour and coconut flour to make them gluten free. They also contain quite a bit of coconut oil. This gives them an incredible texture that is soft and pillowy.
The homemade chia seed jam gives them just a touch of sweetness. If you end up making these cookies, please let me know how they turn out in the comments. FInally, here’s how to make these cookies!
